Post-practice Post-script

Savanasana - corpse pose – an old forgotten friend. It’s easy to overlook this posture as practice becomes more elaborate. I find my self getting caught up in breath ratios and alignment issues and seated meditations and sometimes, I forget just how powerful savanasana is. Although I normally end the practice I did this morning in a standing position as a way into a walking meditation, today I felt compelled to leave out the last counterposture and move straight from apanasana (knee to chest pose) into savanasana. Breath, relax, let go. Breath, relax, let go.

Sometimes I get so caught up in the ‘doing’ of yoga, I neglect the ‘being’ of yoga. Breath, relax, let go. That says it all… just. let. go.

Have a wonderful day and Namaste,

Kate
