Yeah, yeah, I know. I’m WAY behind on writing this column. Beyond seriously tardy even. Part One of The Excuse(tm) is that I took an intersession course at the University that consumed every waking moment of my life for a month.
Part Two of the Excuse(tm) is that immediately upon writing my final exam for said course, I put my chef’s knife to excellent use by doing the Lizzie Borden on the index finger of my left hand. This has slowed my typing abilities considerably. The bandages are thick and if my hand is in a normal typing position, it throbs like a son of a gun!!
I’m still reading — up on deck right now is Touching Enlightment by Reginald A. Ray, Arinne Wiseman (et al)’s The Beginner’s Guide to Insight Meditation, Bruce Lipton’s The Biology of Belief, and Carl Jung’s General Description of Types. Mark Epstein’s Thoughts without a Thinker is in the mix as well as is John Welwood’s Towards a Psychology of Awakening.
That should keep me out of trouble for a while and hopefully, by next week, the bandage size will have gone to something I can work with because honestly, this is a pain (literally and figuratively). But as all good yogis and yoginis know — this too shall pass!!
Thanks for reading and Namaste… I’m just going to sign off this while I’m still ahead.
